Environment and sustainable development: our eco-responsible commitments in Carnac

There are no demands, no strong ideological commitment and no race for labels, our campsite takes action to protect the environment and promote sustainable development through a multitude of small everyday gestures.

🌿 Energy management

~ We use non-polluting, noise-free means of transport, including electric vehicles, bicycles and trolleys.

~ The pool is heated by a heat pump to reduce energy consumption.

~ We use low-energy LED bulbs for lighting

~ We have day/night programmers for public lighting.

~ We encourage you to turn off the heating and lights in rental properties when they are unoccupied or when the windows are open.

~ We regularly dust the grids and defrost our fridge-freezers. This dust can increase energy consumption by 30 %.

~ On sunny days, we recommend closing the curtains in the accommodation to keep it cool.

💧 WATER MANAGEMENT

~ We water our hedges, flowers and flower beds using reclaimed water, in particular water from our swimming pool (120 m3).

~ Showers and washbasins in sanitary facilities have a timer system.

~ Campsite staff are trained in leak detection.

~ We have our sanitary water and swimming pool water quality checked by the ARS (French health and safety authority).

WASTE MANAGEMENT

~ The campsite has a selective sorting area with containers for glass, paper, plastics and cans...

~ Deposit all our green waste in a special area where it can decompose naturally.

~ We raise customer awareness by putting up posters and handing out a practical guide to sorting waste, which is included in the welcome booklet.

~ A bin for used batteries is also available at reception.

~ We reuse used paper as draft paper.

~ We limit the printing of emails and other documents.

~ We favour e-mail exchanges over postal mailings.

~ At the campsite bar, we use returnable containers for drinks as much as possible.

~ At the snack bar, we ask our holidaymakers to bring their own takeaway containers.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

~ We use steam cleaners.

~ The cleaning products we use are white vinegar, bicarbonate, etc...

ECO-AWARENESS

There's a wide choice of nature tours on offer (nature reserves and parks, hiking, mountain biking and horse riding).

LOCAL ECONOMY

~ Local products are on sale in the grocery shop and bar.

~ A wide range of literature promoting local heritage and tours is available at reception to encourage people to discover the region.

~ We choose local craftsmen for work on the campsite.

MAINTAINING & PRESERVING BIODIVERSITY

~ Less frequent mowing in certain areas to allow biodiversity to develop

~ Our driveways are grassed on both sides for better water drainage

~ Integrating equipment into the landscape

~ The perimeter of the campsite is planted with vegetation to blend in better with the landscape.

~ Presence of nesting boxes

~ Mowing: the grass cut during mowing is distributed to the animals on the mini-farm.

~ Limiting the use of phytosanitary products (pesticides)

~ We let the young shoots of shrubs and trees grow naturally in the nursery so that we can replant them later in our hedges and copses.

NOISE REDUCTION & PROTECTION

~ Vehicle traffic is prohibited from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

~ We make maximum use of battery-electric tools to maintain the green spaces, and we use thermal tools, in particular the lawnmower, during the periods when the campsite is less busy.

~ The events take place in July and August, from Monday to Friday, and finish at 23H00.

AIR QUALITY

~ No air conditioning in mobile homes.

~ Use of electric vehicles for as many journeys as possible

~ Buy products in large containers (to reduce packaging)
